The Cut Shoppe: Happy Birthday

Hello! Today I want to share a new layout featuring two new cut files from The Cut Shoppe! One of my favorite subjects to document are the birthdays of my children and I did just that using both the Snap To It and Party On cut files:

The Snap to It cut file set includes 6 camera themed icons, that can be used for your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

The Party On cut file set, includes 8 birthday themed icons, that can be used for your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

My son turned 15 in December (I am not really quite sure how that is even possible???) and I wanted to use both a camera and the "happy birthday" and I chose to cut both out of the same piece of black patterned paper. Here is how my layout turned out:

Most of the time, I either cut my shapes and phrases out of white cardstock or patterned paper. When choosing patterned paper I have to make sure the pattern doesn't distort what I am cutting. I had intially chosen a more "solid" camera and the result was a camera that really didn't look like a camera! My solution, since I was super set on this piece of patterned paper, was to choose a camera that had thinner lines that way I saw less of the pattern and more of the outline of the camera. Here is a closeup of the camera which I adhered with pop dots to make it's outline even more pronounce:

Looking forward to seeing how you use these cut files on your own pages!

Hello Life

Hello! Today I am sharing my first layout of 2016 for The Cut Shoppe! For this project, I went with the Say Anything cut file to create a title for a page about my kiddo's and I.

The Say Anything cut file includes 3 phrases, that can be used on your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

This is a file I had been saving to use for the just the right project. I really loved the three different options for titles and the fun mixed type.

When I purchased a die cutting machine two years ago, I had really hoped that it would help me use up all the paper scraps I keep or at least put a small dent in them! And I am happy to say that this layout is a perfect example of me doing just that! All the patterned paper in the layout, include the navy paper that I cut the "Hello Life" title out of came from my lovely stash of paper leftovers.

Gossamer Blue: January Blog Hop

GB Blog Hop Banner

Welcome to my stop on the January edition of the Gosssamer Blue Inspirational Blog Hop!

I know that the "kit world" moves pretty fast and when most of you are receiving your kits the design team is receiving the next month's kit which means sneaks of the new kits start happening.

At Gossamer Blue we know that this can be pretty overwhelming, so we've come up with a solution-each month on the 15th we are going to inspire you just as you are receiving your kits!

This month the January Kits were pretty fantastic and I truly had so much fun creating with them. Today I want to share a brand new layout that features both January's Life Pages Themed Add-On and the Main Scrapbook Kit:

I really wanted to feature the wood veneer title from Crate's Shine Collection and went with a basic grid design. I also went a little wild with the hearts and took a "more the merrier" approach as I was deciding how many to add!  Here are some closeups:

Now as much as I hope I have inspired you to drop everything and get those January Kits out, I want to encourage you to continue working your way through the hop because there is an amazing amount of talent in today's line up and I wouldn't want you to miss a thing! Here are the links:

Thanks for stopping by!

Now that we have the details, here is what Elle's Studio has to offer for this first month of the new year:

Elle's January.

Elle's January.
Elle's January.

This month I was inspired to make both a traditional layout and a pocket page. Here's a look at the layout:

This layout is a combination of the January Kit, patterned paper from the Thankful Collection, and items that I had laying out on my work table. One of the endearing qualities of the Elle's Studio Kits is that I am able to work them in with whatever supplies I have on hand.

Now for my second project-a pocket page documenting a few days in November:

The red and gray color combo really worked for this particular batch of photos and I even brought in a little pink using pink letter stickers (also from Elle's Studio.)

What a fun beginning to a new term at Elle's! Make sure and head on over to the Design Team Gallery to see what the rest of the team came up with using this month's batch of fun products!

Citrus Twist Kits: January Reveal

I have been scrapping with kits for a long time and every year I always look forward with antipation to January because they always give me that breath of fresh air that I so desperately need after the holiday season. The Janaury Kits from Citrus Twist Kits were just this and today I want to share my projects with you.

First, here is a look at the two kits I worked with-the Scrapbook Main "Verona" Kit and the Sprinkles Add-On:

January 2016 Main "Verona" Kit

January 2016 Sprinkles Kit

I was pretty enamored with the mint and yellow combination in the sheet of lemon patterned paper from Basic Grey and I could not help myself but include it in EVERY layout!

To see even more projects made with the January Kits, make sure and check out the Citrus Twist Blog and Gallery, the girls are always amazing me with what they come up with!

Gossamer Blue: January Reveal

Happy New Year! Today I am happy to start the new year off with the reveal of January's beautiful kits from Gossamer Blue!

When I received the January Kits, it was December and I was deep in all things Christmas and opening up my box of goodies was a very much needed reprieve from all the holiday madness. Creating with the kits was like working with a breath of fresh air and I am sure you will find them perfect for starting off a new year of memory keeping!

Today I have three projects to share. Up first is a layout that features hearts galore and a cute little girl on a trike:

Today

After laying down strips of patterned paper, I went to town with the labels from Fancy Pants and paired them with the puffy hearts from Crate Paper's Valentine's collection.

Today2

This next layout, Goals, ended up being my fave color wise-I mixed the patterned papers from the Main Kit with the paper from the Bits and Pieces add-on (which included a 6x6 paper pad from Fancy Pants) and created a cool (as opposed to warm) color combo which complimented the black and white photo.

Goals

Hearts again were my choice of embellishment and I even cut one on my own with my Silhouette. The paper pad comes in super handy for making die cuts.

Goals3

My final layout for today features tags from Fancy Pants along with the "memory" wood veneer.

Memory2

All of my projects were made with a mix of the Main Scrapbook and Life Pages Kits, along with both the Bits and Pieces and Life Pages Themed Add-ons. You can see all of the kits here.

Wishing you a great day!
