Gossamer Blue: April Reveal

Good morning! Today I am super happy to finally be able to share my first three projects that I made using the gorgeous April Kits from Gossamer Blue! This month the kits are full of a great mix of products from American Crafts including Pebbles, Dear Lizzy, Amy Tangerine, Maggie Holmes, and Shimelle.

When I was working on my layouts I was like a kid in a candy store, having so much variety really made it difficult to narrow down the products to use on each layout because I wanted to use it all at once! As a result I have three very unique projects. Here they are in no particular order:

`

They couldn't be anymore different, right??  To see more projects made with the April Kits make sure and check out the Gossamer Blue Gallery!

Elle's Studio: April Reveal

Good morning! Today at Elle's Studio a new Design Team Gallery and Exclusive Kit is now live! Yay!

Here's a look at this month's kit:

For April, I decided to do something a little bit different and create pocket pages using the kit along with a few extra pieces from the Little Moments collection and the Jonah alphabet stamp.

When I am creating pocket pages, they almost always accompany a traditonal style layout and since I like my adjacent pages to color co-ordiate somewhat, I pulled out the cards and tags from the kit that would best suit the traditional layout. For this project I pulled out the blues, pinks, and greys.

My favorite of the exclusives this month is definitely the puffy stickers and I used them throughout my layouts.

For my second project, I once again went very color specific and pulled the yellows and greys from both the kit and the journal cards that come with the Little Moments colleciton.

Now, I am sure I don't have to say this because surely you have noticed, I am not a big stamper. It has never really been my thing, HOWEVER, I absolutely love and am enjoying using the Jonah Alphabet Stamp that is available in the store. The font is so clean and I knew it was just perfect to stamp "snow" on  the 4x6 card!

Citrus Twist Kits: April

March for me was a whirl wind of travel and activities and as the end of the month wore down, I was super happy to slow down and play with my new kit from Citrus Twist Kits!

This month, I worked with the April "Citron" Add-On Kit and I had a blast :). My projects came together so easily thanks to the fresh and inspiring colors. Here's a look at the kit:

20160325_CTK-April_Addon.jpg

Awesome, isn't it? Now as much as the bright blue had me excited, it was the yellow and green that really hit the spot and you'll notice the lemon patterned paper shows up in each layout along with the die cuts from We R Memory Keepers.

Now, I am not entirely too sure if lemons go with cacti, but I went with it! The lemon paper is layered underneath the photo, so that just the colors show through.

This next project is a 6x8 layout and when I set out to put it together, I really wanted to feature the green and yellow. The blue sparkely letters added a bright shot of contrast. I also suprised myself with the combination of Thickers AND a stamp (included in the kit) to make the title.

Finally, I challenged myself to stick strictly to two colors only (plus a neutral) as I put this layout together. Really loved the result!

Now as much as the kit really speaks of spring and sunshine, I didn't scrap a single spring photo! What?! The photos are from Christmas, a February snow day, and a trip to the Feline Conversation Compound near my home--not the typical photos you would think of when you see the kit. I think this really speaks to the versatility of a kit and how you can make a kit work for what you have and for someone (me!) who likes to scrap chronologically this is GREAT.

For more inspiration, please head on over to the CTK Gallery where the design team has been busy uploading there projects!

Wishing you a great day!

The Cut Shoppe: Happy Moments

Hello!  Today I am super excited to share my new layout with you featuring the I'll Fly Away cut file from The Cut Shoppe:

The I'll Fly Away cut file is a background, that can be used for your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

I would argue that this is indeed, the loveliest cut file ever! Seriously, it's gorgeous. Spring always brings out the butterflies from my supplies and this cut file is one I know I will use again and again. Take a look at my first project made with the I'll Fly Away cut file:

Going into this project, I knew I wanted to move the butterflies off center, to make it look like they were flying off of the page. To back the butterflies, I had pulled out several pieces of patterned papers in a variety of spring colors, but then I laid my eyes on the gorgeous sheet of black floral patterned paper from Maggie Holme's Bloom collection and I knew it was the perfect choice. I will have to admit though, I had a hard time cutting that paper down--it is definitely one of those papers that are almost too perfect to cut up! I am sure glad I did though!

Most of the time, putting together a layout for me is about telling a story, but I will have to admit that this time is was all about the butterflies! Wishing you a super day and looking forward to seeing how you all use this beautiful cut file!

The Cut Shoppe: Happy Story

Hello! This past weekend it was my turn on the The Cut Shoppe blog and now I want to share my layout that features the new Happy Clouds cut file here with you!

The Happy Clouds cut file set includes 5 cloud themed images, that can be used on your scrapbooking and papercrafting projects.

When I went to work on my layout, my intial idea was to back the fun clouds with a variety of patterned paper AND to place everything on top of a colorful background (as opposed to my usual white or neutral color.) Well, I went as far as going with a bolder peachy pink grid background, but could not commit to also backing the clouds with patterned paper. My reason for abandoning this idea was that I already had so much color going on and I felt uncomfortable adding any more. Lately I find myself really pulling to a more simple style of scrapbooking and keeping the clouds as is fell more in line with this approach.

Since I was not going to use additional color to make the clouds pop off the page, I adhered them with pop dots to give them that extra bit of dimension my layout needed.

Along with the March release, Elle's Studio has also added the new Little Moments collection to the shop! This collection included 12x12 papers, journalin and die cut tags, stamp, wood veneer, acrylic, a 6x6 paper pad, and more! There is also a limited number of Little Moment Bundle available at a discount!

Here is my first project, Today:

I loved the "Today" cut file and had to find a way to use it on this layout about my oldest daghter turning six. The background paper is probably my favorite from Elle's latest Little Moments collection and I forsee myself using it again and again!

For my second project, Sweet, I focused on using the March Kit to create a 6x8 layout:

I paired one of the 4x6 cards with a piece of patterned paper from Little Moments to create a simple background for my photo.  I complimented the photo with a sweet 3x4 card placed right by its side.  The "picture perfect" stamp was the perfect final touch.

Gossamer Blue: March Reveal

Happy March!  Today is reveal day at Gossamer Blue and I am super excited to share my projects with you this morning!

The March Kits are full of all new releases from Crate Paper, Pink Paislee, and MME! This kit was incredibly motivating and my layouts came together with ease--a sure sign that the kits are great :).

This first layout is a combination of the Main Scrapbook Kit, Add-On #2, and the Main Life Pages Add-On:

If I had to choose a favorite layout from my projects this month, this would be it.  So many things that I love about this layout--the color scheme is just so spring;  the cut file, which is included in March's batch of printables and cut files, is so pretty and delicate; I totally surprised myself by not using any cardstock; and it features my dog Rincon whom I believe to be the coolest dog out there ;).

For my second layout, I pulled products from both the Main SB Kit and Main Add-On:

I had been hoping that MME's new collection On Trend 2 would make it into the kits and I was not let down! The word "Smile" is a beautiful glassy gold and had me wishing that I several packages of the word phrases and shapes (also from MME.)

The last project I am sharing today is a match up of the Main SB Kit, the Life Pages Add-On #3, and Add-On #2:

This colors in this kits, as I am sure you can tell, are very springy, but they work well with all subjects including these very wintery pictures of my daughters.

Well have you seen anything that you like?  Personally, I think I hit the jackpot with these kits! It's almost as if I handed Lori (owner of GB) my wish list from CHA and she put it all together for March!

If you have the time, please head on over to the gallery--the projects created by the Design Team are pretty terrific!

Happy crafting!
